Dr.Patricia Livingston, MD, FRCPC, MED
Associate Professor
Dr. Livingston is an associate professor of anesthesia and medical director of global health in the Department of Anesthesia, Pain Management & Perioperative Medicine at Dalhousie University. She is an Honourary Associate Professor at the University of Rwanda. Her clinical practice includes anesthesia and chronic pain management. She is active in medical education at both Dalhousie University and the University of Rwanda. Her work in Rwanda has included anesthesia curriculum development, the establishment of a simulation and skills center and introduction of the Rwandan the Safer AnesthesiaFrom Education (SAFE) Obstetric Anesthesia Course. Dr. Livingston and her colleague, Dr. Ruth Covert, have developed the Teaching and Learning Course to help residents and consultants improve build skills as lifelong learners.
Research interests:
Dr. Livingston’s main academic interests are in curriculum development, medical education and improving health care in low- and middle-income countries.
